Creature Cocks don’t look like other dildos. Nor do they particularly resemble a penis. Instead, these brightly-colored, fanastical sex toys are shaped like octopus tentacles, a hypothetical unicorn phallus, a swamp monster with bulging eyes, and the demon penis of a hound from Hades, to name a few. If you think these out-there adult toys are only fancied by fetishists and erotic cosplay devotees, you’re wrong. The Creature Cocks line—which is produced by XR Brands, a Huntington Beach, California, adult novelty product manufacturer—is selling like gangbusters.
To learn more about Creature Cocks and their popularity, I reached out to XR Brands President Rebecca Weinberg. In this interview, she reveals what the rise of romantasy literature has to do with it, why tentacle dildos are their most popular model, and how being a woman in a male-dominated business is an asset.
Susannah Breslin: When I encountered Creature Cocks for the first time, I thought: This is insane. Then I thought: I have to have one. I went to an adult store near me and bought the Mystique Silicone Unicorn Dildo. At the checkout, I asked the guy working there if Creature Cocks are popular. I had assumed these products were a fringe interest, but he said they sell them all the time. How was the Creature Cocks line conceived and what has the reception been like by consumers?
Rebecca Weinberg: Surprisingly, these items have sold incredibly well—so well, in fact, that we’ve expanded the line to nearly 200 products, and now it’s no longer just focused on cocks! Initially, I thought these might be niche items, and honestly, I had no way of predicting the level of demand, especially since I had no prior experience with selling products like these. However, much like with many of our other product lines, we recognized a gap in the market for a romantasy dildo collection with a solid wholesale pricing structure, and we jumped in with both feet! I was genuinely amazed by the response to our Creatures, and the timing couldn’t have been better with all the mainstream attention surrounding romantasy. From skits on Jimmy Kimmel to the rise of successful romantasy books, even to a romantasy TV producer reaching out for a potential collaboration on a series—it’s been incredible!
Breslin: You have several Creature Cocks categories—Alien, Aquatic, Beasts, Mythological, Underworld—and a variety of Creature Cocks products—from dildos to butt plugs to strokers. What are the most popular products among all the Creature Cocks and do you have a favorite?
Weinberg: So far the most popular have been the Aquatic Creature Cocks dildos that are adorned with tentacles. They are visually appealing, and I believe the idea of a tentacled arm penetrating oneself must be a popular fantasy. My favorite is a new release called the Tongue Lasher. It is dual-density, dual-motor silicone toy with movement. It’s what I call a modern day rabbit, which offers both internal G-spot stimulation as well as external clit stimulation simultaneously. The insertable part is a super soft red silicone material in the shape of a large tongue sticking out of a firmer green silicone curved vine of sorts that also has a mini-tongue that targets the clitoris. The clitoral tongue has multiple patterns of vibration while the insertable tongue whips around in a circular motion to stimulate the G-spot. It is so desirable that it literally sold out within a week of launch.

Breslin: Creature Cocks aren’t cheap. You have to really want one. What do you think is their appeal? Is this for people who engage in erotic cosplay? Or have people gotten bored with regular sex and want to imagine having sex with aliens, beasts, and demons?
Weinberg: The Creature Collection transports you to magical sexual realms filled with adventure, mystery, and supernatural wonder. With fantastical shapes and colors, these creations offer a sense of awe and excitement that can’t be found in ordinary forms. The fantasy elements amplify the experience, making it all the more intense and captivating. Much like romantasy novels, our creatures come in a wide range of styles—playful, powerful, mystical, animalistic, and even otherworldly. No matter what your imagination craves, we’re sure to have a creature that’s just right for you.
If you read to imagine relations with a creature, why not have an actual creature to take your experience to the next level?
This line is truly made for many and identifies with an array of people. I’ve met quite a few OnlyFans models that love to use our creatures on camera. They literally collect them to showcase the variety of shapes and sizes and themes. The colors pop and the shapes offer something completely different for their subscribers than the norm. Counterculture enthusiasts seem to identify with them as well. The styles and colors seem to tie in with the tattoo and glass pipe lovers nicely. The romantasy and erotic cosplay followers are a huge portion of our customers. If you read to imagine relations with a creature, why not have an actual creature to take your experience to the next level? One can never get bored, as the imagination is limitless.
Breslin: As president of XR Brands, you oversee an adult company that manufactures adult products for fetish and BDSM-focused consumers. How did you end up working in this sector of the adult space? Do you feel that being a woman has shaped what you bring to the business?
Weinberg: I’ve always admired XR Brands from a distance as a smaller, innovative, tech-savvy company within the adult product industry, with significant growth potential. When I joined the team 11 years ago, it wasn’t necessarily because of a passion for fetish or BDSM products, but rather a desire to elevate the company and take it to the next level. This involved building a strong team, refining our product offerings, and solidifying our loyal customer base. My perspective as a woman has undoubtedly shaped what I bring to the business. This industry has traditionally been male-dominated, often designing products for women, yet I’ve never hesitated to voice my opinions. Speaking up has always been part of who I am, and while it hasn’t always been the easiest path, I wouldn’t be true to myself if I did it any other way. After all, what could be more valuable than a woman’s opinion on products meant for women?
Breslin: You’re a Navy veteran and a mom. What’s the biggest misconception people have about you and what you do?
Weinberg: This question really highlights the stigma that exists around working in the sex toy industry. I started in this field when I was 21, so throughout my entire adult life, I’ve faced some level of judgment for the work I do. From what I’ve seen, many people tend to associate it with porn or sex work, which has made dating challenging for me. There’s often this assumption that you’re surrounded by porn stars and living a wild, out-of-the-ordinary personal life. I’ve learned that dating while working in this industry requires someone with a lot of self-confidence to look beyond that stigma. The reality is, the 100-plus people at XR Brands are just regular folks, working in a fascinating industry and making a living.
