In this week’s edition of The Reverse Cowgirl Roundup: the girl stays in the picture when our featured photographer is holding the camera, Hooters goes bankrupt, MUBI compiles a library of erotic films, Trump has a foot fetish, and more.

1. Photographer Dave Naz is the man behind the 2006 photo of former adult actress Sasha Grey at the top of this newsletter. You may be familiar with Naz’s extensive body of work that often explores erotic subjects. I’m really looking forward to his next book, Candids, which will be published this fall. Follow him here.

3. The novel Hunchback by Saou Ichikawa was a bestseller in Japan, and it just got nominated for the 2025 International Booker Prize. What’s it about, you ask?

   Born with a congenital muscle disorder, Shaka spends her days in her room in a care home outside Tokyo, relying on an electric wheelchair to get around and a ventilator to breathe. But if Shaka’s physical life is limited, her quick, mischievous mind has no boundaries: She takes e-learning courses on her iPad, publishes explicit fantasies on websites, and anonymously troll-tweets to see if anyone is paying attention (“In another life, I’d like to work as a high-class prostitute”).

4. Hooters is considering entering bankruptcy, Bloomberg reports. The breastaurant’s problems include: debt, liquidity issues, and less people wanting to come in the restaurants and ogle girls in orange short-shorts.

5. The New York Times has a nice profile of dancer and cabaret artist Gypsy Wood, who is in The Last Showgirl and who owns the Las Vegas home that serves as Pamela Anderson’s showgirl character’s home. In the movie, Wood appears in The Dirty Circus, spinning plates with—well, you have to watch it.

6. Speaking of movies, I noticed recently that streaming platform MUBI has an erotic films category. For the sophisticated smut cineaste, there’s Gaspar Noé’s Climax, Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut, David Cronenberg’s Crash, Steve McQueen’s Shame, and Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers, to name a few. But there are also actual hardcore movies to stream, like Gerard Damiano’s The Devil in Miss Jones, Joone’s Pirates, and Eddie Powell’s Scooby Doo: A XXX Parody. [Correction: Reader S. notes that while MUBI does have an erotic films category, the aforementioned movies are only available as trailers and “not available at this time” for streaming on MUBI—at least in the US and UK, it seems. I’ve reached out to MUBI about their plans for “erotic films” streaming and will report back in an upcoming newsletter. The Reverse Cowgirl regrets the error.]

This season, folks are getting an eyeful of professional nepo baby Patrick Schwarzenegger, the eldest son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, who serves up sort-of full frontal nudity and some fauxcest.
