In this edition of The Reverse Cowgirl Roundup: we’ll take the call, Diddy and male escorts, an adult star gets sentenced, a strip club closes its doors, the Cannes Film Festival screens kink, the Playboy Mansion undergoes a reno, and more.
This week’s featured photo at the top of this newsletter is the work of Steve Prue, a Brooklyn-based photographer whose subjects include rock stars and hot girls. Who’s the woman on the phone in the picture? That’s Frankie Fictitious, a burlesque dancer who knows how to ride a motorcycle. Pick up a copy of Steve’s recently dropped, limited edition Pretty Little Zine Vol 01, check out more of his photos on his website, or follow him on Instagram.
The sex crimes trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs saw the release of the identities of some of the purported male escorts who were allegedly involved in “freak off” sex parties arranged by Combs and involving his ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. One is Ash Armand, a former star of Gigolos who is doing eight to 20 years for a voluntary manslaughter case involving a female friend.
A porn star named Uncut James was sentenced to nearly six years on two felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon that isn’t a firearm and a felony charge of carrying a loaded firearm in public under specific circumstances. The conviction stemmed from a 2024 incident in which James allegedly attacked another male porn star, The Flesh Mechanic. “Karma never misses, and the truth always comes out in the end,” the victim wrote on X after James’ sentencing.
Wired went to the Pornhub Awards: “The stars in attendance discussed how social media censorship and Pornhub’s greatly reduced footprint are impacting their bottom lines, the pros and cons of shooting ‘mainstream’ studio porn versus self-publishing their own videos, the struggles of online dating, and celebrating transgender porn—a category that’s been steadily rising in popularity—under a presidential administration that is openly hostile to trans bodies.”
Image credit: Susannah Breslin Awhile back I drove by Crazy Girls, a strip club in Hollywood, and noticed it was closed. At the time, there was a homeless encampment made of blue tarp and shopping carts on the front porch area. When I returned a few weeks later to take a few photos, the homeless encampment had been cleared out, but the place appears to be permanently shuttered. Maybe it was the shooting.
“Julie Phan admits that when she picked up a Christmas Eve shift at a Montreal strip club back in 2022 that she ‘low key did it for the plot.’” A playwright, actor, and self-described “Bitch from Toronto,” Phan wrote and stars in a solo performance piece about stripping during the holidays: Never Walk Alone. Get tickets.
Gamers, behold penis jiggle physics (also: breast jiggle physics).
One movie that got a lot of buzz at the Cannes Film Festival was the kinky, queer Pillion, starring uber-babe Alexander Skarsgård. Vulture calls it a “Salty-Sweet BDSM Romance.” Vanity Fair reports it’s “Affecting.” The Hollywood Reporter deems it a “Surprisingly Tender Study of a Sub/Dom Queer Romance.”
Supposedly, the Playboy Mansion has completed a five-year, $10 million renovation. In 2016, Pabst Brewing Company heir Daren Metropoulos bought the Holmby Hills property for $100 million, which at the time was the biggest recorded home sale in Los Angeles County. I went to the Mansion three times when Hef was there and found it to be a truly fabulous place.
HUSTLER®50: 50 Years of Freedom is a new book about the legacy of Hustler magazine. From the famous meat grinder cover to free speech battles to the life of Larry Flynt, the tome revisits the influence and images of the provocative publication that went where Playboy didn’t dare tread. The author is Liz Flynt, Larry’s widow and chairwoman of the HUSTLER® brand.
